It was used as an assault landing craft and could mount a 37mm anti aircraft gun or Katyusha 8-24 rockets. The version here has the AA gun on a platform at the rear of the boat.

I bought a pair of these in plastic in 1/56 for my Soviet naval infantry.
These models look really very good and are well worth the investment. Not sure that I’ll use the supplied gun mounts as the models will be just mobile ‘jump off” points in our games.
